  • What is ELEC?

    Established in 1973‚ ELEC monitors the campaign financing of all elections in the State. Whether the election is for Governor or Mayor‚ member of the Legislature or a City Council‚ candidates and campaign organizations are required to file with the Commission contribution and expenditure reports.

“48–Hour Notices” Help

All candidates and committees‚ regardless of the amount spent‚ are required to file written notice with the Commission within 48 hours of the receipt of any contribution in excess of $1900 in the aggregate‚ from one source‚ received during the period starting with the 13th day prior to the election up to and including the date of the election of any such contribution. Note that contributions reported as 48–hour notices are reported again on the 20–day post–election report. 48–Hour notices are also available by searching for the specific candidate or Political Action Committee filings.

School Board‚ May Municipal and Primary election notices will be available through this screen until the end of July of the election year. General election 48–Hour notices will be available through this screen until the end of December of the election year.

Select CANDIDATE AND ELECTION RELATED COMMITTEES to see 48–hour notices filed by candidates and election related committees involved in the current election cycle. You will also be able to find the 48–hour notices when using the View a Candidate/Committee Report option to find filings made by a specific candidate or committee.

  • When this is selected and you also select LIST OF ALL ENTITIES FILING 48–HOUR NOTICES your result will be an alphabetical listing of all candidate and election related committees filing 48–hour notices.
  • When this is selected and ALL 48–HOUR NOTICES is selected your result will be a listing of candidate entities filing 48–hour notices.
  • When this is selected and BY DATE FILED is selected you are able to select a specific date to see the 48–hour notices filed on that date by candidates and election related committees. If you leave the date selection at All your result will be a listing of all candidate entity 48–hour notices sorted by dated filed.

 

Select PACs to see 48–hour notices filed by Political Party Committees‚ Legislative Leadership Committees and Continuing Political Committees. You will also be able to find the 48–hour notices when using the View a Pac Report option.

  • When this is selected and you also select LIST OF ALL ENTITIES FILING 48–HOUR NOTICES your result will be an alphabetical listing of all PAC entities filing 48–hour notices.
  • When this is selected and ALL 48–HOUR NOTICES is selected your result will be a listing of PAC entities filing 48–hour notices.
  • When this is selected and BY DATE FILED is selected you are able to select a specific date to see the 48–hour notices filed on that date by PACs. If you leave the date selection at All your result will be a listing of all PAC 48–hour notices sorted by date filed.

When selecting ALL as the type of 48–hour Notice with any selection you make in the select report option section‚ your results will include Candidate and Election Related Committees and PACs in the same listing.

Use the SORT ORDER options to see your results sorted by any of the available fields listed in the drop down lists.
